On a First Date, First Impression Counts
Your first date impression will mark your entire relationship. As you embark on your first date, it is the one time in the relationship that you are able to be the person that you want to be. You have the opportunity to do things correctly in your relationship and treat your date right. Many times we fall into the pattern of making the same mistakes that we have made in prior relationships. When you go on your first date you can do things how you want to do them. When you start off your first date with a great first impression, you will have a second and third date, followed by a wonderful relationship.
However, if your first date impression is a disaster then there is not much of a chance that you will be seeing a second date any time soon. But making a great first date impression does not mean that you need to be on your best behavior and try hard to be someone that you are not. If you are a free spirit and love to wear outrageous colors and funky outfits then you should respect your date enough to be who you are and not someone else. However, if you are looking to be a little more courteous or less self absorbed, your first date is the perfect place where you can begin to change your egocentric ways.
Everyone is different so there is no hard fast rule that if you act this way or do X that your date will respond well. The best way to make a good first impression is to think about what this person would like. If you know that your date has had a rough week at work, you should try to do something that will make him or her forget about work like going to a theme park for a rush of adrenaline. No matter what you need to be yourself while making your first impression because you want someone to love you for who you are. Even if you really want a relationship to blossom with your date, can you really change who you are to be the person that your date wants you to be?
In general, there are a few things that most dates like to help begin your date off well. Your appearance is one of the first things that your date will see. Whether you have a normal sense of style or a borderline Lady Gaga fashion outlook, you should look presentable. This means that you shouldn’t have bags under your eyes because you didn’t sleep last night, you should be showered, teeth brushed, etc. Always be on time because being late to a date can be disastrous. Lastly, you should be engaged in the conversation, regardless of the topic.
